Why fats are better than carbs
I am pretty much convinced that just by reading and trusting some health guru, you couldn't pick the right nutritional plan. I know it from experience, and I'd reccomend you try and find out which one works best for you. But from my experience( and I've tried all the high-something and low-something diets), the best one is the high fat diet, with your fats coming from meat, nuts, coconut oil, olives, fish, egss, avocado and so on; your carbs coming from some fruit and lot's of different vegetables and the protein...just eat your meat and eggs :).
Because I do not want it to sound bareness I will back up my theory. I am not the best at explaining something with biologycal terms, though I understand it for myself...so I will make it easier. I found an article that sums up everything and provides it in a simple way so it could be understood by everybody. Here it is.
I will just add up something to all that, by saying to everybody that thinks carbs are vital for our survival...Let's go back to our ancestors and think about how they lived. Because our evolution is due to their way of living. They had to go long periods without food, followed by some feasts. DUring the time of starvation our body needed a way to provide the essntial body parts with the needed nutrition. So it developed mechanisms to cope with the different circumstances. The liver, the main back-up glycogen;glucose storage can only store about 100 grams of glycogen. Less than a day’s worth. Your muscles can only hold another 350-500 grams and that glycogen isn’t even available to provide fuel for the brain. Meanwhile, we have a virtually unlimited storage capacity for fat-about 100,000 grams or close to a million calories . The reason glycogen storage wasn’t necessary is because, between our copious fat storage capability, easy access to fats as fuel, gluconeogenesis and ketones, we just didn’t need much. Evolution tends not to reward structures or functions that take up unnecessary space or waste energy.
Also let's make it simple and think why do we tend to get ona diet? Because we store the excess calories we eat as fat. Why do we store them as fat? Because that is what the body keeps,so in case you made it endure long periods without food, it will make sure that it will have enough fuel to provide in order to survive.

Diet without deadline
She was staring at my groceries, and said that she wished she could eat as much as me and still look good, but everything that she ate looked to go on her butt and her belly...so she was cursed to be on a diet. The lady told me about how a "specialist" explained her how she was supposed to eat, she knew everything but it was still hard to follow the diet. She went further saying, "Thanks God I have two more weeks till the end of the diet and then I will be able to eat everything!".
First of all...no wonder it was hard following the diet. I would find it hard too, if I stuffed myself with yogurt with added sugar, and diet desserts that make my body suffer just by the thought of eating them! Next...I totally "LOVE" diets with deadline. Those are my favorite! I've done that too and it seemed like I never got to finish my diet and sclupt my body before the deadline came...so it was something like a deadline after deadline, always failing to get the results I STARVED so hard for.
I am not right sure what is supposed to happen or actually how it is supposed to happen, but people should understand first that diets have no deadlines. Diets are actually a lifestyle, and the word itself is not a bad word and not something to be ashamed of. Diet just means an eating plan. So first step towards achieving your goals is to get to know more about the food you fuel your body with!Make sure you find an eating plan that will fit you and your needs. And take caution that this diet is not supposed to be the one that works for your neighbour, your friend or some celebrity! It is the one that works for you and just you!
Make sure you will eat some REAL food! And by real I do not mean the one that circulates through the latest commercials;the one that is being advertised by skinny girls, praising the food that made their life better...none of that is real food. Actually what you are supposed to eat are all these foods that never get aired in the commercials-start from the nice, delicious red meat, the tasty, colorful vegetables;juicy real fruits; eggs; fish;raw nuts and so on. Just make sure that your eating plan includes all the listed above foods and I assure you that you won't find it hard to follow. You won't find yourself feeling deprived and miserable with your life.
After starting to eat the real food, start eating as much as you need. Not as much as somebody says you wree supposed to. Throw away all the calculators, and stop estimating these calories. Your body knows better what you need. You know better how you feel. The calculator just estimates some numbers. Do you think that your body is so simple?Do you think it functions this way? Just a quick equation of calories in vs calories out? I bet that scientists wished it was so simple! There is so much more to it. There are so many things that influence the way you feel, the way you look and the speed of your metabolism. It is a complex of what happens inside of you and what influences you from the environment around you!
Some factors you can influence...others you can't! You just have to make sure you make the optimal efforts to fuel your body the right way, so it will be strong and prepared to face the difficulties and cope with the stress that your environment will bring!

Yin and Yan egg
I am not right sure that I am gonna try to do it for breakfast, because it might take a while...or probably a little longer than planned, and I may pass out from starvation, but for those willing to give it a try, here is the link with the explanation how to cook your eggs like that.

Bulky? Think again!
Nothing new, right? It seems like appearance is everything that matters nowadays! It is amazing how many women consider yourself fat and not attractive. Most of them spend hundreds of dollars some even larger amounts for trainers, weightloss programs and even medical interventions. Always with the thought of achieving the body they want...or most likely the body that is accepted in their society.
I recently read a couple articles on the topic, about the body looks, what is accepted, and what is considered beautiful. One of the articles even contained the results from a pole. The results were as follows:
* The majority of women don’t like the look of muscle on themselves or others.
* The majority of women think that men prefer the look of a lack of muscle on a woman’s body.
* The majority felt that Jessica Biel and Hilary Swank (in MDB) define “bulky.”
* The majority of the women expressed little interest in lifting weight, even if it didn’t result in a “bulking” effect.
* A large majority of women would rather be too thin than either too fat or too muscular.
* More women choose to be fat over muscular.
* Based on the actress looks, women prefer softer and trim over too lean or too muscular.
Bulky
Not Bulky
See the results? I see nothing "bulky" and unattractice with the women that were considered "bulky". I think that Hilary Swank had a pretty nice body in the movie a Million Dollar Baby.
It is so sad to see beautiful women that accept the missleading information as their own oppinion and lifestyle. It is right about time for everybody to understand that women can not get as muscular as the bodybuilders for example, unless they take steroids or some other medications. WOmen just do not have the amount of testosterone that is needed for that goal. Besides if it was that easy growing muscles every man on the Earth would have them. I know guys that have spent years in the gym, practicing pretty hard and they never get those muscles...and women are afraid that just by stepping in the weightlifting room, the muscles will start popping up, and tearing their sleeves! No way that is happening! I myself deadlift 198pounds, squat with 154pounds and so on...and what has happened with my body since I started doing that is that it got firmer and smaller. I lost a lot of fat, and now I have defined muscles. But I do not consider myself bulky. I like myself a lot better now, then when I was SKINNY FAT! :)
So give it a try! I promise you will love it!

N.E.P.A
In a world where every day somebody invents something that spoils us and makes us become lazy, where you hardly ever need to do some heavy physical activity in order to survive, our population is destinied to become more obese with every passing year! That is why something needs to be done. And as it always happens in life it starts with some small changes in our lifestyle! Most of us find it hard to restrict on the bad food, others find it impossible to drag themselves to the gym and move a little bit. So if you are the kind of person that gets tired just by the thought of working out( and I deeply hope you are not!!) you can still make some MINOR CHANGES to your lifestyle that will bring to BIG RESULTS!
I know that not a lot of people give it a thought, but if you started your day parking your car a little further from your office you could pump up your blood a little bit by walking that distance. Instead of eating like it is your last day on Earth and then taking the elevator when you get back from lunch, you could have a nice exercise if you just climbed up the stairs. And trust me it ain't that scary at all! I do it all the time and I live on the eight floor. Surprise!!! I am still alive! I assure you, that you will be too! And you will feel better than ever!
Come on! CLIMB THE STAIRS!
I hate it when I see somebody in my University taking the elevator to the second floor! Come on! Even my great-grandma moves more. She does her gymnastic every day twice a day...and she is 90years old! DOesn't that make you feel ashamed?
Then instead of getting back home, and settling yourself down on the couch wqith a bag of chips and cheese dip, watching some boring TV show, you could use the time to go out with your friends and have a nice walk in the park.
So do you see it? You made just three little changes to your day-you walked a little bit to work, climbed the stairs instead of taking the elevator, and walked in the park! Do you know how much this adds up? You already moved three times more what others do, and you didn't even break a sweat!
Now, that is a great beginning! Next step-get addicted to being healthy, start moving, go working out, buy a gym memebership or whatever you want, JUST MOVE! And if you add up some changes to your eating habits...you are already there! The closest to your HEALTHY YOU! But let me not be so greedy and not force you to do so much in such less time! Just make sure you include your N.E.P.A.

The wrong advice
I remember her counting calories all the time, doing some freaking strange diets and constantly complaining how her coach told her she was fat and she had to lose weight. That was the first time I heard about a calorie and from then on my life ain't the same! :D I remember both of us going to a supermarket close to the school and we bought BISCUITS AND SWEET YOGURT!!! and we considered that healthy!
So anyways that was just an introduction, so you could get more aware of the background with diets that my friend had. So now she ain't that lean anymore, actually she has some weight to lose. And she was really excited because for the last couple months she is working as a receptionist in a globo gym.
She said that because everybody there is so concious about nutrition she decided to give it a try. So one of the COACHES in the GLOBO GYM made up a NUTRITION PLAN for her..and here she goes sharing what he told her to eat..."For lunch I have a 100grams of boiled rice"...took me a couple minutes to think over what she just said. I was SHOCKED! A hundred grams of rice for lunch??? I was just gonna pass out instead of her!
Later on in the conversation she said she was feeling really good...and what she said was "...besides I am fierce to eat a chocolate pancake and some ice cream and maybe a little more chocolate, and plus when I go to bed I can't wait to wake up and have my breakfast". Hm...do you think that means feeling good? Doubt it. What it looks to me is more like her body is crying for fuel, energy...basically STARVING!
Ok, so after I let say swallowed the information about the nutrition plan, she went further telling me about the workout program...and I am even scared to explain that one...let's just say that the workout takes up like two and a half hours with an hour of cardio, lots of sit ups and exercises WITH WEIGHTS!!-3kg dumbells!... that does not look like a weight to me! Come on! Even my steak on the fork is heavier ;)
I am constantly AMAZED when somebody with a sports background trust somebody like HER COACH! And how in the world is it possible for someone like him to have a certificate for a personal trainer. And the scary part is that the bigger part of the coaches are just like him. Give advices just like his. Provide people with THE WRONG INFORMATION just like he did. And instead of helping people to achieve their goals, they just help stopping them and bringing more problems-like sickness, low self esteem, disappointment, discouragement and they are just a torture to the body and mind in general!

Eating vs Starving
I think the pictures say it all! You know how when you are hungry and you go to the shop everything looks delicious. You are bifurcated between all the choices you have. And since it is really hard to just pick one, you get all of them( and usually you pick the most unhealthy once).
When you go to the shop and you are not straving you will make smarter food choices and you won't crave all the junk food that is out there.
It is the same with diets. If your diet resembles more photosyntheses, i.e. you are hardly eating...you are most likely to endure this for a couple days and then you will eat as much food as you can get.
But if you are eating a well balanced diet, that leaves you full and satisfied, and provides you all the nutrition your body needs, I can assure you that crappy food won't be a temptation anymore.
So instead of spending your life thinking about food, starving yourself to death and then overating just change your mindset! Change your diet! Get a TRUE healthy one. Start eating! Make better food choices and just enjoy it!

Sugar slaves
I guess that is the problem most people have when they try eating healthy. They feel deprived and miserable, thinking they are missing all the joy in life. But I think that this depends on the perception you have towards food, i.e. whether you LIVE TO EAT or you EAT TO LIVE! Everything comes down to the point where the direction where you set your mind to go will influence the way you feel about food.
I myself don't spend my day feeling deprived for not "being allowed" to eat junk. Because I do not forbid myself eating it, I just do not feel the need to eat it anymore. When somebody is stuffing some donuts I know that if I feel like it I am more than welcome to get some too, but the thing is that instead of bringing me joy and making me happy eating crappy foods makes me feel tired and sick.
Most people that make food a matter of life's joy are simply addicted to it. They are actually addicted to the rush they feel right after having that piece of cake or the candy, but what they are having a hard time realizing is that later on they are paying much higher cost for the pleasure they had by feeling tired, sick, miserable and depressed.
And before you get aggressie about it let me explain...When you eat sugar, your blood sugar rises quickly and your pancreas immediately jumps into overdrive. This increase in blood sugar causes the pancreas to secrete the hormone insulin. Insulin's job is to get that sugar out of the bloodstream by delivering it to cells where it can be used for energy. But if there's no demand for energy it gets stored as fat. If it stays in your bloodstream, it is toxic sludge and must be removed. Now, the body steps up its efforts to achieve homeostasis by releasing both adrenaline and cortisol (the stress hormones). Your heat rate is higher and you may feel a little flushed at this point or even nauseous. But that "sugar high" is short term, and you will soon experience the "sugar crash". This happens when all the sugar is out of your bloodstream and you start to feel sluggish and tired.
ANd probably what most of you are going to do in order to feel better is grab another candy bar...and thus it becomes an enchanted cycle where everything repeats over and over again, besides everytime you are hurting your body more and more...
So what I explained above does not sound like a lot of fun to me, and I do not see a reason for anybody that destroys their body that way to waste time feeling sorry about me and others eating healthy! I'd reccomend to take care of yourself first and then worry about others!

Why a calorie is not a calorie!
Most of the people I meet try to excuse their bad food choices saying " A calorie is a calorie, and as long as I put less energy in my body than I spent everything is going to be fine!" But do you believe things are so simple? Because I don't!
Don't fool yourself that as long as it is in moderation it is good for you..
If you follow the "rule" above, you might look good, considering your appearance but I assure you that you are a total mess on the inside. What you are doing by fueling your body with junk is what I did when I forgot my sister's car needed dizel and instead I put gas in it. I thought I put the fuel in the car and I was ready to go, but the problem was it was not the right fuel.
By eating junk food and all these "modern foods" you fuel your body with the wrong nutrition and it actually does not receive the micro and macronutrients needed in order to function well. Here comes the paradox- you are eating all the time, but in the same time you are always starving. That is because a calorie is not a calorie! Your calories are empty. They are not rich in nutritions like the healthy dense foods.
The truth is, the conventional wisdom about why we get fat is simply wrong. It's not about energy balance; it's not about "overconsumption of calories" or "taking in more calories than we burn." It's about something else- the way human body regulates fat metabolism and the accumulation of fat in our adipose tissue. Getting fat is a disorder of accumulating too much fat, so of course we should pay attention to how our bodies regulate fat accumulation. The real question to ask is why we accumulate fat—or more specifically, why our fat cells store more calories as fat than they release into the circulation to be burned for fuel.
Fat accumulation in the human body is regulated fundamentally by the hormone insulin. If insulin levels increase, so does fat accumulation. If insulin levels decrease, fat is released from the fat cells and used for fuel.
Insulin levels, for all intents and purposes, are controlled by the carbohydrates in the diet. The more refined and easily digestible those carbohydrates, the more insulin will be secreted. And most "modern foods" contain lots of sugars, i.e. sucrose( the one we put in tea and coffe, to make the more tasty) as well as high-fructose corn syrup—will cause long-term increases in insulin production.
That means that you should stop lying yourself, repeating the worldwide spread "knowledge", that as long as what you are eating is in moderation you will be just fine! Instead of just repeating the celebrity "gurus" myths about health, get more conscious about it and get yourself interested by getting to know how your body functions and what it needs to do so!

Nutrition movies
I think the movie "Sugar: The bitter truth" is really interesting and simple to understand. Everything is so clearly explained through graphics and scientific evidences! I think that everybody that is interested in healthy living should watch it! You can learn a lot from it and it surely will help you teach somebody something!
In the presentation, Dr. Robert H. Lustig argues that fructose – especially in the form of high-fructose corn syrup – is so bad for you that it should be classified as a poison, he also likens the way your body reacts to it as alcohol without the buzz.
According to Dr. Lustig, it’s not merely an issue of biochemistry but also industry – he points to the corn industry-sponsored Sweet Surprise site – and even politics. He puts out some interesting facts that you may have never thought about...but that are actually the truth and make sense!
The video is about an hour and a half but is worth the time.
That one pretty much shows, or even explains the roots of Paleo diet and why it is good for you and your body. There are two mor eparts to that video. The second one explains about the exercise that is connected with the Paleo style. These videos are a lot shorter than the above so make sure to find the time and take a look at them too.

No excuses!
Since yesterday I am in Brussels for a seminar. I will be staying here till Tuesday. SO that makes it four days in a foreign country, far from my home and my daily schedule. And as I said before the most important thing of my day are sports and nutrition. I hardly ever skip a practice. Even when I am sick I make sure to go to the gym and exercise. I should be stuck to my bad, having no force to get out of it in order to miss my practice.
A lot of people use traveling as an excuse for skipping workouts and eating junk. Did I do it too? OF COURSE NOT! What I did was:
1)First I checked the hotel that they reserved for me from the seminar. I found out there was no fridge! Problem number one! Solution found!
2)I checked the forecast for the next week in Brussels. I found out it was gonna be pretty cold, so that meant I could take healthy food from Bulgaria and keep it on the balcony(which I found out was missing haha so I keep it on the outside of my window).
3) I cooked my stakes, my fish and packed them in boxes!
4) I prayed there is not gonna be problems at the airport. And fortunately everything was just fine, so when I got to Brussels and got my luggage, my fuel(my food) for the seminar was there with me.
5) I went to the shop and bought lots of vegetables, fruits and water. You would think couldn't you buy your meat and fish there too. Yes, I certaintly could have done it, but I do not have much time, and I do not have anywhere to cook, so I had to buy some packed food, and I hate the thought of being left without healthy food!
6) I am enjoying my steaks and my fish.
So everything with the food is just fine...what about workouts. Well when you think about a person that goes to a foreign country with half of my bag full of food would you expect me to skip workouts? Sure I do not!
I just wake up earlier before the seminar starts. I put on my workout clothes. Then I think for a WOD(workout of the day) I could possibly do in my room, that is not more than 3square meters, and I get to work. For example today I did:
50burpees,100air squats,30 V-ups.
40burpees,80air squats,30 V-ups
30burpees,60air squats,30 V-ups
20burpees,40air squats,30 V-ups
10burpees,20air squats,30 V-ups
It wasn't a hell of a practice but it is still something to keep me pumped up! ;)
Next two days I am gonna make some more WODs and make sure I have a good workout!
So there are NO EXCUSES for eating junk food and being lazy! Like anything in life if you find it important you will think for a way to squeeze it in your schedule!
By the way I found a pretty interesting article on a similar topic. It has to ddo with mothers that are always makeing excuses for practices. I encourage them to read the next article, hopefully it will inspire them and make them move!

The epidemy of our century a.k.a childhood obesity

Child obesity is one of world’s leading problems. Nowadays more and more children suffer from diseases that are typical for adults- diabetes, high blood pressure, heart diseases and etc.
Obesity is a metabolic disturbance with chronicle character which is a result from complicated interactions between genetics, hormonal balance and the surrounding environment. Obesity is most commonly caused by a combination of excessive dietary calories, lack of physical activity, and genetic susceptibility, although a few cases are caused primarily by genes, endocrine disorders, medications or psychiatric illness.

During the past half century the calories eaten by people are dramatically getting higher, and the change in the eating habits of the population is not just in a matter of quantity but also in quality. Another external factor influencing the low physical activity is caused by economy and industrialization which have led to the minimum the need to be physically active. In the past our ancestors received awards for being physically active and today we are forced to pay in order to be involved in sports.
But where is hidden the problem with our kids “growing wider”? Is it in the family, school, the social environment or somewhere else?
Let’s first look the family. The example that parents give to their kids play an important role in children’s life. It pretty much builds children’s habits and views for life. According to a study 75% of children that have overweight parents are also “cursed” to inherit their shape. You will say “Sure, it is the genes!”. But is it actually true?Does it always have to be the genes that take all the blame. Or is there other reasons that we try not to see in the desire to find an excuse? Every morning you stop at Dunkin Donuts, try all their donuts, brownies, new drinks full of cream and sugar. For lunch you grab some pizza and ice cream and on your way back home you go to KFC and you buy the delicious ,crispy, chicken wings and the only healthy thing in your food is the leaf of lettuce in your McDonald’s sandwich you had over a talk with your friend…how could you expect your child to be dying to eat fruits, vegetables, nuts and meat? Did you forget you were his role model?
Do we want our children to have a better life and feel healthy?...if the answer is yes we should first change ourselves and the way we influence them will be different.
Another reason that is a main factor for children obesity and is again coming from the family are parents relations. There are evidences that most of the children try to hide some emotional emptiness by eating….and I mean binge eating!
There is a study in which they asked some overweight children what is the reason to eat so much…and the most common answer was that they found comfort in food when they had some bad emotions in their life. So again it is up to the parents! Take your time and think if you are giving your child the love and attention it deserves? Maybe in your family there are a lot of fights that are hurting your child and he/she finds salvation in food. When I say attention I do not mean grabbing a happy meal on your way home and giving it to your child thinking that you have compensated for your absence. Your children do not need your presents…they do not make them happy! The NEED YOU!
The other place where we should search the fault for obesity is at school. Our children spend a lot of time there and have most of their daily meals there. Is the food they have at school healthy and does it give them the proper nutrition? I think that all of you will agree that it doesn’t! It should be paid more attention to the food children eat at school. I read about that small town in the USA where people decided to make the first step towards healthy lifestyle. They made up that S.O.S program (Save Our Schools). It concentrates on kids having balanced and nutritionally dense foods at school, they even grow their own vegetables in the school yard and after that prepare their own food.

Another problem at school are the P.E. classes. Before when I hear about P.E. my first association was sport. Now…it is more like let’s have some leisure time to sit around and chat. I heard about a teacher that punished kids, when somebody made something wrong. And the punishment was “No P.E. class for all the students”. Could a normal person punish all the kids to stay in the dusty classroom just because Ivan took Maria’s pencil? I think that we should definitely think more about our children’s health and instead of limiting their physical activity we should motivate them to move more!
And remember that your kids ain’t fat because thei ain’t moving…they ain’t moving because they are fat!!
Next reason for obesity is the MEDIA! The tendency, about animated heroes being exploit like commercial models of the newest food masterpieces of the fast food restaurants, is growing every day. In a study they gave children hamburgers, fries and carrots. Some of them were packed in a simple wrapping and others were packed in wraps with the face of a movie hero. The result was that about 80% of the kids said that the carrot in the “colored” wrapping tasted better than the one in the simple wrapping. What that means is that it is really simple to manipulate children by “accidently” forming their needs and desires.

The causes of obesity could be found in hundreds places but we should start the transformation from somewhere. In the world there are about 45million children at the age from 1-5 that are obese and the tendency is for this number to get higher. Do you want this to be our children’s future? To be food slaves? Let all of us try to lead healthier life and hope that our kids will be our fellow- travellers in this journey.

My favorite breakfast

That is my favorite breakfast from now on. Up to this day I used to eat oats every single morning for the past year and a half but from now on I will have this one.
I made a healthy pancake with 2whole eggs+2whites+vanilla then put it in the frying pan without any oil and when I baked it I put some honey and cinnamon and instead of ice cream I put home made yogurt! It was delicious! :)

Food matters

I just watched the movie "Food matters". I recommend everybody watches that movie! There is so much truth in it. It makes you think over so many things that are so obvious but most of us are so stuck with the stereotypes that we do not pay attention to them.
Particularly the movie is a propaganda about healthy eating and how with the right food you could provide yourself an excellent health- almost all diseases are due to wrong eating habits. Another point in the movie is about medicine and the pills, and how all that is pretty much commercialism. All those pills are just poisoning your body and they actually do not cure the reason of the illness but just its symptoms- and when you are trying to heal yourself you should heal your whole body not just parts of it.
Human's body is a pretty complicated structure and there are a lot of chemical processes going on in it, and they are particularly all connected. When one of them goes wrong all of them do!
Besides most of the food we consume nowadays is not healthy due to the pollution. Today the artificial fertilizers consist out of three minerals and soil needs 52of them...so you see that soil nowadays is not rich of minerals which leads to a lot of problems when growing crops. And when you add pollution it becomes even worse. So the food we eat does not contain essential nutrition thus it does not provide our body the elements needed to function the right way.
When food like that goes in our body it recognizes it as a threat and that makes the white blood cells to activate and treat the food as poison. That makes our immune system weaker and when there is an actual threat about the body it is not as strong as supposed to fight it. So we think we provide our body the fuel it needs to function normally but particularly we are poisoning it. That is why most of us feel tired and not productive most of the time. Remember that you are what you eat! When you eat poison you are going to feel like you are poisoned.

Today it seems more like all big pharmacological companies have become big machine for money and all they care about is how to get more money. The health of humanity is left way behind... Doctors work not to make you haelthier but to earn more money... "1/3 of what you eat keeps you alive and 2/3 of what you eat keeps your doctor alive!"Most pills that are prescribed have way too many side effects that cause hundred thousand people die every year... and vitamins...there are not more than 10-20 people dying from them every year.... so you say it is better to take pills instead of take your vitamins? ... well that is way too wrong!
It is funny how our society is ready to waste so much money for doctors, pills and material stuff(cars, houses and so on), instead of giving them for good healthy food. It is so strange how today there are so many technologies and people know so much about health and diseases but we are getting sicker every day. New diseases pop out every single day and they are threatening society!

And in the past people did not get to know that much about health, and body and diseases and contemporary methods to cure them fast and "safely" but they seemed to much healthier and happier. Just think about your great grandma that is probably 95years old and is healthier than most people your age. Probably she lives in some calm and nice village, grows her own food and have some cows and goats that give her good and healthy food. ANd you probably think you are so much luckier than her to live in a society where you have all these technologies and so on... but is it really that way? Do you really care about the material things you have when you do not have the thing most needed to use all that possessions- YOUR HEALTH????
One of my mom's best friends is a doctor. She is known as one of the best in the country but tell you the truth sometimes when we chat about food and stuff I really can't imagine that this is the person that will take care of my health if I need it. Most doctors do not know anything about healthy eating and vitamins... they put these things on the backstage and do not count them as something that is essential to your health...and is that right? Well it isn't! Food is the best medicine and the best medicine is food! Your body is a really "smart" machine and it can teak ea pretty good care of itself if you just let it do it! SO next time instead of taking a handful of pills, go and give your money for some REAL food that won't poison your body and that will give you the fuel needed!
I hope more people will start caring about their health and start reading more about food and vitamins and the positive effects they have on us!
So in case you read this... go and download the movie and I assure you you won't be sorry for the time you spend watching it! Instead there will be one more person on earth that will be educated!
And as a conclusion-you do not need doctors because YOU ARE YOUR BEST DOCTOR!

The BLT Diet
Since I am really keen on healthy eating and weightlifting and sports generally, all of my friends are asking me to help them loose weight or gain muscles or whatever else you could think of that has something to do with sports and nutrition. Some of them are overweight, some are not... but they always say how they are giving everything possible to lose weight and it never comes out the right way.
Well, when I ask them how exactly they are trying to shred that weight and I hear the sentence " I do not eat after 4p.m. or after 6p.m."; "I eat fruits before my meals so they can take space and I could feel full and eat less"; " Well, I eat everything but really small portions"; "I do 2-3hours of cardio"and all that lame explanations... Sometimes I think all these people should get together and write a book what NOT to do if we want to loose weight!
The thing with "eat everything-just smaller portions" is so ridiculous. It is like saying you are reading tons of books but turns out you are reading just chapter's names... I'd say that it is better to avoid calorie dense foods(like all the junk food)- that practically are stuffed with calories but do not give you the feeling of being fool and instead eat some meat with more vegetables( that are big volume foods(take a lot of space but are low in calories)) . That way you won't feel hungry and you will stick to good, nutritionally rich, healthy eating.
Then the cardio issue.... 2-3hours of cardio? Well, I am a swimmer and swimming could be counted as cardio...and yes I spend like 4hours a day swimming but it is something like my job.... it is just my sport that is requiring it... but if I was somebody that wants to have healthy lifestyle and look good I wouldn't waste my day doing cardio. Instead I would stick to some interval training combined with weightlifting. It is much more productive and takes less time but leads to better results!
And now I am finally to the point I actually started writing this for... the "BLT Diet", or in other words — bites, licks, and tastes. Most people tend to think they are following some healthy eating plan, and they are expecting to see results... but who knows why they never last long on the diet because they get demotivated by not seeing any results and they just quit... Well, if you are one of them you better stop and think for a while...are you really following your plan? Or are you slacking on it?... maybe that bite from your boyfriend's burger; or the lick from your friends ice-cream, and all these small bites of junk food that you think won't harm you, and all the sips of the high fructose juice you have every time you open the fridge? ... Well all that broken in small bites and sips and licks may look nothing to you but when you add it up it turns out you are not following any specific HEALTHY eating plan... you are just cheating on yourself...
So it seems to me that most of the diet enthusiasts actually are following the BLT diet... and if you do not change that diet, you will surely never see the results you expect to!
