At the end of the day you either focus on what is tearing you apart or what is holding you together!
I watched a short scene from a movie, where there was a servent who was talking in fron of a group of teenagers. She showed them some pictures. They looked kind of blurry and they were taken from really really close. She asked them to guess what was the real object in the picture. One of them actually looked pretty disgusting. It was similar to a really close view of brain, but it did not look nice at all! They tried to hit off the object, but none of them guessed it right! At the end it turned out to be....A WALNUT! Then she said that sometimes in order to see the object you should look at it in a different perspective.
That got me thinking about how life goes on. Sometimes when you find yourself stuck in a difficult situation, things look hopeless. You feel like you are carrying world's burden on your back. You catch yourself thinking that it can't get any worse and probably often wonder why this is happening to you? How did you deserve it?-you'd ask. Well the story above made me think about life and the problems we face. Sometimes when you are in the mids of the problem, it looks like it can't be solved. Looks hard...and the more you try to find the solution the deeper you get stuck in it. But hold on...don't give in to desperation...remember the servent and her pictures? Remember how the disgusting thing in the picture turned out to be a simple walnut? Well, take that example and adjust it to your life. When you face an obstacle, don't dig deeper in it, just to find yourself drained and unable to cope with it. JUST LOOK AT IT FROM A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE!
Do you remember when we were little, how we loved to take the magnigier and look through it? Using it, you could se ethe smallest bug like an enormous tarantula! Even the smallest things, grew bigger if you looked at them through the lenses. But then...you just move the lenses away and it is still that small tiny bug it actually is. So, why are you scared now? What makes you feel that fear and insecurity? What if you are exagerating the situation just because you are looking from so close at it? Move further...let it rest! Don't stress over it and "the big tarantula will turn to a little bug", that won't scare you anymore.
When having a problem, don't give in to the negative emotions that try to overatke you! Be stronger than them....why? BECAUSE YOU ARE! Just remember that we are just a small part of the big Universe....and thus our problems are small on the background of world's disastours!

Diet without deadline
The other day I was at the grocery store. I was waiting in line, when a lady behind me asked me if I was an athlete. I smiled back and affirmed I was. The lady was about 40years old and a little overweight. While we were waiting she felt like chatting with me and told me how much she wanted to be in shape. She threw a compliment and told me I had a stunning body. She was holding a fruit yogurt and some "DIET" dessert. I myself had a couple cartons with eggs, some pork stakes and tons of veggetables.
She was staring at my groceries, and said that she wished she could eat as much as me and still look good, but everything that she ate looked to go on her butt and her belly...so she was cursed to be on a diet. The lady told me about how a "specialist" explained her how she was supposed to eat, she knew everything but it was still hard to follow the diet. She went further saying, "Thanks God I have two more weeks till the end of the diet and then I will be able to eat everything!".
First of all...no wonder it was hard following the diet. I would find it hard too, if I stuffed myself with yogurt with added sugar, and diet desserts that make my body suffer just by the thought of eating them! Next...I totally "LOVE" diets with deadline. Those are my favorite! I've done that too and it seemed like I never got to finish my diet and sclupt my body before the deadline came...so it was something like a deadline after deadline, always failing to get the results I STARVED so hard for.
I am not right sure what is supposed to happen or actually how it is supposed to happen, but people should understand first that diets have no deadlines. Diets are actually a lifestyle, and the word itself is not a bad word and not something to be ashamed of. Diet just means an eating plan. So first step towards achieving your goals is to get to know more about the food you fuel your body with!Make sure you find an eating plan that will fit you and your needs. And take caution that this diet is not supposed to be the one that works for your neighbour, your friend or some celebrity! It is the one that works for you and just you!
Make sure you will eat some REAL food! And by real I do not mean the one that circulates through the latest commercials;the one that is being advertised by skinny girls, praising the food that made their life better...none of that is real food. Actually what you are supposed to eat are all these foods that never get aired in the commercials-start from the nice, delicious red meat, the tasty, colorful vegetables;juicy real fruits; eggs; fish;raw nuts and so on. Just make sure that your eating plan includes all the listed above foods and I assure you that you won't find it hard to follow. You won't find yourself feeling deprived and miserable with your life.
After starting to eat the real food, start eating as much as you need. Not as much as somebody says you wree supposed to. Throw away all the calculators, and stop estimating these calories. Your body knows better what you need. You know better how you feel. The calculator just estimates some numbers. Do you think that your body is so simple?Do you think it functions this way? Just a quick equation of calories in vs calories out? I bet that scientists wished it was so simple! There is so much more to it. There are so many things that influence the way you feel, the way you look and the speed of your metabolism. It is a complex of what happens inside of you and what influences you from the environment around you!
Some factors you can influence...others you can't! You just have to make sure you make the optimal efforts to fuel your body the right way, so it will be strong and prepared to face the difficulties and cope with the stress that your environment will bring!

Push through the pain
“Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place..."
We always push through the pain...don't we? At least those of us who believe in the beauty of their deepest desires, in the brightness of the future and the hidden strength inside of us. That's how we are...pain is a basic instinct for human survival. Pain ain't something scary. It may look like it, but it isn't! Feelings are disturbing. We are thought that pain is evil and dangerous. But see...all that pain is meant for is to wake us up. It is just a signal that we are going in the wrong direction; that we are doing something against our good. Actually from that point of view pain can be even a good thing...it is just a protection-a protection signal that your mind sends to your body. It just alerts that you took the wrong turn and if you do not get back on the road you will crash and burn!
Actually pain is something to carry! You feel your strength in the experience of pain. All that matters is how you deal with it! Feelings are your reality, you pick which one will influence your life and which will be on the back stage.
When do you acually stop pushing through the pain?...the answer is you do not stop until you give up! I refuse to surrender in front of pain's control. If I stop pushing through it I start crumbling! Instead I give myself time to think up a strategy and get over it...find the strength inside and use it in my favor!
You have a strength too! Just make sure you keep pushing through the pain! It isn't dangerous! It is just a friend, who came to help you find the strength inside when everybody else walked outside and left you alone! So do not curse it, but praise it and push through it!

The feeling
“You can close your eyes to the things you do not want to see, but you cannot close your heart to the things you do not want to feel.”
Have you ever experienced something? But I am not talking for something ordinary. I am talking about a real feeling! A strong one! That burns your heart, your soul! That leaves you drained! STaying there wanting to move, scream or just do something but feeling empty? Like all your strength is gone...like you payed the price for your happiness with your soul! What a trade! Your soul for a feeling.
Do you know how it feels to be standing...being seen by others as a whole person, but inside feeling broken? Dying with the desire to put yourself together, but feeling helpless in front of your feelings? Wanting to grab that terrible sense, rip it out of your chest, throw it on the ground and then jump on it? Make it feel, the way it makes YOU feel!
Burning inside....hoping that feeling will have some mercy and will just leave you...let you have your life... but then realizing it is stuck inside...and no matter how much you want...there is no escape! It is you and your feelings! You are there feeling restless, and they are taking over you!
Let me tell you...I've felt it three times in my life! And it ain't nice at all! Everytime I promise myself I will never let somebody or something make me feel like this again...and then I let it happen again! But people once said that if you do not learn a lesson from your mistakes you are destined to repeat them over and over again, until you learn!
Oscar Wilde once said “A man who is master of himself can end a sorrow as easily as he can invent a pleasure. I don't want to be at the mercy of my emotions. I want to use them, to enjoy them, and to dominate them.” ...That is what I wish for myself tonight!
